KAARO Åbo/Vasa develops basic material for teacher education to describe the designing of assessment and the relevant procedures in schools. The material includes a description of the relationship between assessment, school development and pedagogical leadership at the level of schools and municipalities. It also illustrates the need for a clearly expressed set of fundamental values and conscious treatment of ethical aspects when carrying out assessment

VOIMA – Parents as a resource in assessment

The goal of the project supporting positive integration is to develop models for using assessment data in the cooperation between the home and the school, especially from the perspective of parents from an immigrant background. As assessment data, the project uses the results of the Parent Survey 2018 conducted by Suomen Vanhempainliitto and Förbundet Hem och Skola, a Finnish-language and Swedish-language parents’ association, which has been translated into the 12 most commonly spoken foreign languages in Finland (Arabic, Somali, Kurdish, Persian, Vietnamese, Swahili, Russian, Estonian, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Albanian and English). The collaborative experiences obtained from the results will be used to draw up recommendations for cooperation between the home and the school to support the development work of schools and teachers.
